A dream comes true
airport. He had been in Japan for the last 10 days. After breakfast we began to tart ourselves up with make-up and so on. We joked about our luck, as it will be surely raining when we leave the house. So everything would have been in vain. We left the flat and it didn't take very long until it started raining. (That's our luck! =D) Actually we wanted to visit the 221B Baker Street. Not the real one, but the street which was used for the BBC Series Sherlock, but we didn't want to take pictures in the rain there, so we decided to go to the Hyde Park again.
We left the tube at Hyde Park Corner and visited a war memorial which is near the Buckingham Palace Garden. It was an Australian War Memorial.

We walked towards Buckingham Palace.
There wasn't anything interesting except a huge building and many many tourists. To show them what is a super tourist I unpacked my video camera and my camera. This set the spotlight on me as tourist and the very next second a camera team walked up to us and they wanted to interview us. Obviously they wanted to talk to people because of Olympia. The asked us about the olympics. On the one hand I'm not good in understanding English and on the other hand I'm not very interested in the olympic games, I didn't answer to their questions, but told the guys from my huge Sherlock Holmes love. As I were not willing to talk about sports, Kadda tried to make the best of that bad job, but failed since she herself is not a big fan of the olympics or sports whatsoever. In conclusion they wanted us to say something to our team. We wished them good luck, success and a lot of fun! The usual empty phrases. XD
We went on walking and discovered a sign with Belgravia on it. This reminded us of the first episode of the second season of Sherlock (A Scandal in Belgravia). The mini houses which are hidden behind the huge ones were cute too.

It started raining and we decided to take a random bus. This bus went to Oxford Circus and I began to film the bus ride. To be honest, this was more relaxing than to walk through this huge crowd of people. We left the bus at Euston.
Then we walked to the North Gower Street, the Baker Street in Sherlock. We recognized the famous door and the sandwich store Speedy's. It was amazing! Wow! It looked like in the show! We were so nervous that we didn't have the heart to cross the street. We walked towards the street and on our way back we entered Speedy's Café.
The indoor is amazing. There are a lot of pictures of the actors of Sherlock. We ordered something to eat. Kadda ate an omelette and I chose a Bacon Cheese Burger. It was soooooo delicious! We sat in the cafe for ages and overate us. I didn't manage to finish my Burger and asked for a box to take my burger away. After some time we left the cafe and decided to walk our meal off with a stroll. It took not long. Until we arrived the next bus stop and decided that the walk had been long enough :D .
We went by bus to St. Paul's Street. There we searched the St Bartholomew's Hospital. The place where Sherlock 'died'. It was amazing! It looks like in the series! We walked also the same way like John. We sat on two chairs and thought about how Sherlock could possibly have faked his death.

The court where Moriarty was in the third episode: The Reichenbach fall is near the Bart's and therefore we visited it too. The court was really cool and we wanted to go to a trial. At that time we didn't know that this really could happen.
Kadda wanted to go to the Fleet Street, which has to be near the court. But we got lost again.
Now, Kadda had to spend a penny (she had to pee!) and we searched a good place for it. We found a sandwich shop and Kadda asked for toilets. I stayed in front of the shop and waited. Suddenly, a employee came and locked the door of the shop with a 'caution - wet floor' sign! (WTF?!) I was a little bit terrified, but I didn't move a bit.
Some minutes later, Kadda was released and we joined our new hobby. Randomly go by bus. This time we went to the tube station Bank. As the name implies we were in the bank quarter of the city. All employees called it a day, because a lot of well-dressed – especially in suits - were in a hurry to go to the tube station. There were so many people that we got lost in the tube station. These are so huge!We arrived at Tess's flat and we remembered that she said to us that her bell is broken. Therefore we called Tess, but no one took off. |
Kadda sat on the ground and I stood next to her. The neighbours wondered about Kadda and one of them asked Kadda if she is ok. Obviously sitting is some sign of "I-feel-bad-today" in London and we were likewise amazed and touched by the concern those local people had.
After about 20 minutes Tess called us and we could enter her flat. There we met her boyfriend and talked with him about Japan, mangas and his medicine studies. During our conversation we ate stew.
Before we went to bed, we had to take a shower. Kadda was the first and came back, almost frozen. She said to me that there is no warm water. I tried to get warm water and had to notice that Kadda was somehow right. There was warm water - warm like liquid lava. That led to a further problem. My water ballanced from freezing to death to burning my skin off. But in the end we were clean and could go to bed.
