The ride into a new adventure has begun!

Thursday, the 15th August Kadda woke up at 03:00 am. The look at the alarm clock blurred the anticipation to drive from Germany over Austria to Italy.
Janina, however didn't have a clue of Kadda's mopishness. She also woke up at 03:00 am, hoped everything she will need was packed, said good-bye to her worried mum and prayed that Kadda will be arrive on time. If you have to wake up that early, you don't want to wait for someone.
After a quick bye-bye from her sister, Kadda got on her VW Polo Ingeborg to drive to Janina's home.
Kilometer reading: 7502 km!
Shortly after 04:00 am Kadda was standing in front of Janina's house. We are ready to rock and roll!!!

We drove towards Munich, listened to really cool music and enjoyed the beginning of the day. Some hours later we stopped at a parking place near a small lake and ate our yummy food we packed. The peaceful silence was destroyed by Dutch with leathertrousers, listening to annoying music. We hurry to text our parents and went on to drive to Austria. We listened to the Sissi Intro to get into the perfect mood.

Fascinated by the beautiful mountains we totally forgot to play Sissi while crossing the border. Well ....
We used the short ride through Austria to fill up our car and to buy a petrol can for emergancies. At the toll gate to Italy we fell into panic. We had not plan where we should go. First, we tried the automatic detection. But this was definitely the wrong decision. We used then the way, all other cars also use. We paid and went on. Until our destination we listenend to the audio of all Sherlock episodes. |
We decided to use the highway to Trento. Instead to pay immediately, we just got a piece of paper. A little bit confused we asked three men who were standing around. Unfortunately they couldn't speak English. We went on and enjoyed the beautiful landscape.

After we left the highway we decided to make a short break. On a parking area we met a little 'Giovanni' who carried a garbage bag. He saw Kadda's variegated socks and opened his garbage bag. He wanted to sell socks to Kadda. She declined his offer and we searched another place.
At a small river we parked. It took ages to find a free parking space but the time was worth it. We ate our food, enjoying the view, the little ducks as well as the party boats.
We went on after Kadda had washed her feet.

Let's go to Mestre! But before driving there we had to go to a restroom. We found a restaurant and asking for one. As we drove for a long time, we decided to have a little break. We stayed in the car for a while.
Arriving in Mestre we searched desperately for a camping ground. The labeling was really bad. |
|
Suddenly we drove on the street towards Venice. Over the water. We said quick 'hello' to Venice and drove back to Mestre. We parked at a parking area and asked some people after a camping ground near this area. Actually we just asked one woman who couldn't help us. Tired and exhausted we tried to drive towards Venice again. On our way aimlessly through the city, Janina saw a camping ground sign. Unfortunately we missed the entrance some times until we finally found our aim. Really difficult!
At the reception we asked for a free space. We were lucky and the friendly woman explained everything we had to know. An old man should guide us to our space. We drove behind the man until the first crossing. Kadda decided suddenly to turn to the opposite direction than the man chose. In this moment the man turned around and looked at us with a strange expression on his face. He just walked on. Quickly Kadda turned around and acted like nothing happen. We arrived our place and greet our French neighbours. Ok, let's built our tent.
We got the new tent from Kadda's ex-boyfriend. It contains only of two pieces. Nevertheless we had some trouble to built it.
>>The tarpaulin has to be on the ground.<<
We layed the -obvisouly used - tarpaulin on the ground and built the tent. As we were finished we were confused. The roof looked a bit transparent. It couldn't be right. We looked at the picture on the packaging and noticed our mistake.
>>Oh, the tarpaulin has to be on top. It is our roof!<<
As inconspicuous as possible we tried to take the tarpulin and layed it on the top. Now we just have to place the tent stakes. The obviously unused tent stakes, which had a 90° angle. Not really easy to put them into a dry, hard ground. Our new neighbours watched us and offers their hammer. We accept their offer and beat the tent stakes into the ground. Of course we did it wrong. The woman showed us the right way to hammer them.
Finally finish. We entered the obviously unused tent. We were greeted by dirt and one dead fly. Unused ... of course!

We were so tired that we weren't angry about it. We searched the shower and bathrooms and made us ready to go to bed.
At 08:30 pm we were lying in our sleeping bags and tried to sleep. Suddenly there was a annoying loud alarm. We fell asleep more or the less peacefully.
